- Variety Type: Extremely early-maturing, vigorous, medium-height plant with uniform green pods.
- Nutritional Benefit: Immature pods contain high calcium and iodine levels, which help manage thyroxine-related conditions.
- Cultivation Zones: Grown across all zones in Sri Lanka except the up-country wet zone.
- Seasons:
- Yala season: April to May
- Maha season: September to October
- Planting & Spacing: Direct seeding using about 4.5 kg/ha (soak seeds for 24 hours; plant 3–4 seeds per pit and thin down to 2 plants, spaced at 90 × 60 cm).
- Harvesting: Pods can be harvested every 2 days up to 25 times, starting around 50 to 100 days post-planting.
- Common Diseases: Powdery mildew and Okra mosaic virus (managed through field sanitation, vector control, and IPM)
